Representation

One of EASCO’s main functions is to represent the industry in the corridors of power.

We talk regularly to VisitBritain and are consulted by several government departments on matters that affect our members.

EASCO belongs to and takes part in:

  • British Tourism Development Committee (A VisitBritain consultative forum)
  • Partners for England
  • The Tourism Alliance
  • Federation of National Self Catering Associations

We watch for changes in legislation and “red tape” that may affect our members and represent their interests, often long before the legislation or administrative changes concerned are implemented. It is essential to have an input at the consultation stage, so that the voice of the self-catering industry in England is heard loud and clear. Very often legislation is passed that has been drafted without adequate consideration of the situation in respect of holiday homes, which are all too easily overlooked by government departments. Topics range from fire protection to age discrimination and there are plenty of other things that emerge from Whitehall! We are members of and support the Tourism Alliance which represents the tourism industry more widely. Through the Tourism Alliance and Partners for England we influence national policies and how England is marketed as a destination.

The industry needs a voice – and that voice is EASCO! Your support is vital – join us soon.
